The Doom Slayers Collection includes Doom, Doom II, Doom 3, and Doom (2016); as well as a poster featuring a skeletal Revenant, a controller skin featuring the Cyberdemon (both designs from the 2016 smash hit), and a $10 rebate on the upcoming Doom Eternal.

Although this collection does not extend to the Nintendo Switch, all of the titles included are available on the hybrid console as well — though Eternal will not be released for it until December rather than March. The original Doom and Doom II even saw bug fixes and performance updates on the Switch in September 2019.

Doom hype is truly riding high in gaming circles, as id Software’s Doom (2016) received critical acclaim and won “Best Action Game” at the 2016 Game Awards. With the follow-up to that title coming out soon, including a port on the Nintendo Switch, many believed that the series’ iconic protagonist Doomguy would be the final fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s first wave of DLC characters (though developers later confirmed the idea has never been in serious consideration).

Offering players the opportunity to go back to the series’ roots at a discount is a great way to keep that hype train rolling. Not only is the original first-person shooter an impressive title outside of its place in gaming history, but Doom Eternal will also be calling back to it with options like centering Doomguy’s weapon.

All that aside, some gamers will also undoubtedly be eager to get their hands on some physical swag from Doom (2016) that they can carry into March, so anyone interested should jump on the Doom Slayers Collection before the deal is torn asunder and left to the annals of history.
