Humble Games is a relatively new publisher celebrating its second birthday this May and is a subsidiary of Humble Bundle. Humble Bundle initially gained popularity due to its eponymous “Humble Bundles,” which sold bundles of games with a portion of the price being donated to charity while the rest was divided between the game developers. In recent years Humble Bundle has expanded into a full-fledged storefront rivaling Steam and Epic Games, eventually also stepping into the world of video games publishing as Humble Games. Humble Games publishes many popular indie titles developed by smaller teams or even individual persons and has a solid reputation for unique, high-quality releases.

For its second birthday, Humble Games is putting many of its best titles on sale for as low as 80% off. This includes some noteworthy titles such as the pixel graphics mining and crafting adventure game Forager at 60% off, and the comic book style roguelike first-person shooter Void Bastards, also at 60% off. Among the steepest discounts is Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine, a 2D co-op heist game, a true steal at 80% off and the lowest priced game of the sale at $2.99 USD. Also of note is Project Wingman, an action-packed spiritual successor to the popular Ace Combat flight action games. Roguelike fans are in for a treat as popular roguelikes such as Wizard of Legend, Into the Pit, Crying Suns, One Step From Eden, and many others are also heavily discounted.
Humble Games is also making good use of the sale by using it to promote some of its most anticipated upcoming releases. Though not available for purchase, a handful of unreleased games have made it onto the sale’s page which can be added to Steam wishlists. For fans of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley, the upcoming game Coral Island may be of interest. A farming and life sim, players can build their homes, nurture crops and animals, and build relationships with the townsfolk in Coral Island. Metroidvania fans also have a lot to look forward to as several games including Moonscars, Ghost Song, and Bushiden are upcoming Humble Games titles that can be wishlisted.
For gamers that are seeking novel experiences, the indie games featured in this Steam sale each bring something unique to the table that makes them stand out among more popular and more expensive AAA franchises. Many of these games are already low-priced, so this is a good opportunity to support the indie game developers that continue to bring new ideas into the industry.
