So far, Twitch has not told Dr. Disrespect or the public the actual reason for his ban, stating only that he violated their code of conduct in some way. The streamer himself even claims to not know the reason for his ban, so there’s a lot confusion surrounding the topic.

If this subtle change is indeed a hint at the future of his career, it would make a lot of sense. Since the unexpected Mixer shutdown, there aren’t a lot of platforms left to stream on. At this point, the big names are Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Gaming.

Of course, this doesn’t confirm anything, and it could simply be that he changed the link to YouTube just so it would actually go somewhere. Furthermore, it’s possible he is not planning on continuing to stream but instead will make videos on YouTube. Still, given that he is one of the most influential streamers of all time, it only makes sense that he would try to continue his career elsewhere. Interestingly, he wouldn’t be the only major streamer to join the platform, as Ninja joined YouTube gaming earlier this week, though he has yet to sign an exclusivity deal.

All of this seems to be lending towards a sort of backlash against Twitch, which has become infamous for its seemingly random and inconsistent banning policies. It seems that more and more streamers and viewers alike are getting fed up with the platform and are looking for a new place to stream. Whether or not Facebook Gaming and YouTube are able to compete with the streaming giant that is Twitch is yet to be seen, but signing on two of the biggest streamers of all time would certainly aid in that endeavor.

Again, it should be stated that Dr. Disrespect has made no announcement of his intention to stream with YouTube, and no exclusivity deals have been signed yet either. More than likely something will come up following this subtle change, so interested fans should keep their ear to the ground.
