Call of Duty has a lengthy history with Dr Disrespect that first started when he played the popular FPS games during his early days on YouTube. Going beyond simply playing Call of Duty for content, Dr Disrespect was also hired by Sledgehammer Games in 2011 and became a level designer for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in 2013 which resulted in maps like Ascend, Horizon, and Quarantine. Although some of his Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare maps became fan favorites and Dr Disrespect continues to play Call of Duty on YouTube, he feels Call of Duty developers secretly shadow-banned him as a result of the Twitch situation.

Streaming to YouTube now instead of Twitch, Dr Disrespect has remained a critic of Call of Duty titles, from uninstalling Call of Duty: Warzone multiple times to having a mediocre response to the upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Responding to a fan that asked why he’s so critical of the franchise, Dexerto found that Dr Disrespect said the Call of Duty developers stopped responding to him after the Twitch ban. “Design half the maps from Advanced Warfare, like we’ve done a lot with the franchise, right?" said Dr. Disrespect, “for them to turn the cold shoulder like that, trust me, I took it personal.”
Beyond discussing his personal grievances with how Call of Duty developers treated him after his Twitch ban, Dr Disrespect accused a lot of them of being “phonies.” Dr Disrespect also mentioned the multiple Call of Duty ads he was in during his Twitch popularity which stopped once he was pushed to YouTube, and the opportunities haven’t returned since. Developers behind Call of Duty aren’t the only ones Dr Disrespect put on blast during his rant as he claims “there’s a lot of phoniness in this industry,” before saying EA did the “same exact thing.”
Dr Disrespect pulls no punches in criticizing Call of Duty as he states that it’s in a “pathetic position,” but some fans of his content may be surprised to know the two-time and COD developers had such a falling out. The issues between Twitch and Dr Disrespect were made public as the streamer moved to YouTube while fighting a legal battle, but the drama between him and Call of Duty developers was in the background while this took place. Although his lawsuit with Twitch has concluded, it’s currently unclear if Dr Disrespect and Call of Duty will mend their differences and return to a working relationship in the future.
