Dragon Age: Inquisition followed the story of the Inquisitor, an everyday person elevated to high military status as they gained power over The Fade rifts that threatened to tear Thedas apart after a horrible explosion saw the world turn upside down. In the game, players were introduced to Solas, a traveling apostate and Dreamer who was an expert on The Fade, and he also had the potential to steal the heart of a female elf Inquisitor. Unfortunately, Solas turned out much different than expected and now fans will have to deal with the fallout of his actions in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.

The new comic series is titled Dragon Age: The Missing, and it sees two popular dwarves return to try and track down the whereabouts of Solas. The story finds Varric Tethras and Lace Harding traveling to the Deep Roads under the request of the Inquisitor as it’s suspected that Solas might be hiding down there. The Inquisitor sends Charter, one of Leliana’s spies, to ask the Viscount of Kirkwall to go on this important and dangerous mission. Fans will see some other characters being introduced throughout the story that may or may not pop up in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf as well. The adventure takes the heroes on a long journey where the threads lead them to the infamous Tevinter Imperium. Issue #1 is already out while issue #2 will release on February 22.
Dragon Age: Dreadwolf is highly anticipated among fans as while Dragon Age: Inquisition did tie up the story of Corypheus, it has launched an even bigger conflict that threatens the very existence of Thedas. Many fans are either looking forward to punishing Solas for his crimes or doing their best to save him. Additionally, a new Dragon Age game brings a lot of excitement, leaving fans wondering about which new character they might fall in love with and whether they will see cameos from past Dragon Age favorites. For those fans, these comics will likely be an important piece of media to consume.
BioWare has introduced previous companions and side characters in other publications before, such as Cole, who was originally one of the main characters of Dragon Age: Asunder, a book by David Gaider that dealt with events in Orlais not long before Dragon Age: Inquisition. So it is entirely possible that any character fans meet in the comic could greet them again as a companion in Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.
