Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Patch 1.04 released just yesterday, on January 30, and it contains a number of fixes as well as a QoL improvement that fans may find of particular interest. Specifically, this QoL improvement focuses around loading in DBZ: Kakarot, and the 1.04 patch notes indicate that the update will reduce the load times that players experience when “traveling from one area to another.”

To note, this is not the first time that Bandai Namco has looked to address the game’s loading with an update, as Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Patch 1.02 also focused on “improved loading times.” Indeed, it is clear that the developer is very interested in streamlining the DBZ: Kakarot experience, and time will tell if Update 1.04 is in fact Bandai’s final pass at the game’s load times.

With respect to the fixes contained within Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Update 1.04, these primarily address progression blockers that can arise during a standard playthrough of the title. For instance, it appears that some players were finding it impossible to accept the Sub-Story “Telekinesis Training," which appears in Episode 3 of DBZ: Kakarot’s Saiyan Arc, if they had saved and loaded their game after fighting Tien. According to the 1.04 patch notes, that should no longer be the case following the update.

For fans that would like to see the full extent of the fixes contained in the update, they can be found below in the complete DBZ: Kakarot 1.04 patch notes. As previously mentioned, this update is available now, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and considering that the patch clocks in at under 3GB, players should be able to get back to collecting Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s Dragon Balls and battling its array of bosses with only a minor delay.

Patch version 1.04 is now live and available across all platforms. Please see the below fixes:

Reduced load times when traveling from one area to another Issue where players were unable to accept the Sub-Story “Telekinesis Training” (Saiyan Arc Episode 3), if they saved and loaded their Save Data after fighting Tien. Issue that caused the Main Story icon to not be displayed if you save and load your Save Data after clearing the Main Story “The Longest Three Hours” (Saiyan Arc Episode 5). Issue where Chi Chi cannot be found on the field if you accept the Sub Story “Goten’s Growth” (Buu Arc Episode 1) and clear the Main Story without completing the Sub Story. Issue that caused Characters related to the Main or Sub Story to not appear, if that specific character is already found within the field as a Villainous Enemy. (Only for XboxOne) Issue where users where users would go straight to the Title Screen without viewing the Opening Cinematic.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
