Now, shortly after revealing gameplay of Teen Gohan, publisher Bandai Namco has released a couple of screenshots showcasing Trunks in-game. It’s worth adding that anyone who has played a Dragon Ball Z game in the past ought not to be surprised by these screenshots, but they do show the level of care being applied to characters throughout Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.

In total, there are two screenshots revealed of Trunks alongside a depiction of his standard character model as well. The first screenshot shows a Super Saiyan Trunks wielding his iconic sword, seemingly taken from an in-game cinematic, and the second is of gameplay. The second screenshot shows the explosion made by Trunks’ Burning Attack maneuver.
While these reveals aren’t much, it will hopefully give Trunks fans a taste of what’s to come. A lot has recently been revealed for the forthcoming game, as part of Gamescom 2019, and it’s still slated for an early 2020 release. Barring any delays, this means Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot players will get to check out the playable characters, the new stories, and the DBZ fishing mini-game after the calendar flips.
These Trunks screenshots do speak truth to the reveal that the Cell Saga would be included in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, likely meaning the smaller prelude Trunks and Android sagas will also make the cut. It’s up in the air if the Garlic Jr. saga will be in the game, but considering the DBZ drivers’ license episode is, we wouldn’t count it out quite yet.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will launch in early 2020 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
