The Tokyo Game Show trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot confirms that the game will cover the events of the Buu Arc, which means that it will feature the full range of Dragon Ball Z sagas. Although it is nice to finally have an official confirmation, the inclusion of the Buu saga is not at all surprising given that a DBZ: Kakarot’s voice actor already confirmed this information. The preview also revealed the upcoming game’s worldwide release, which will be on January 17, 2020.

The controversy involves Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s English voice actors, specifically Sean Schemmel, who was heard making homophobic remarks. Before the latest trailer confirming the game’s release date, it has been wondered whether the controversy would affect Kakarot’s release schedule. However, it appears that it is business as usual for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s development team, though it is unclear whether Schemmel’s voice contributions will be pulled from the game.
