In order to complete this quest, Dragon Quest fans will need to travel out into the dangerous open-world wilderness and begin the process of collecting payment materials while scanning and getting new monsters to use as teammates. With everything going on out there, players may want some help spotting the Soil they need.

Dragon Quest Treasures First Island
After leaving the Eggshell Fortress, players will find themselves in the open-world portion of the game. The area they can traverse is limited, but its size is so large that they may not immediately notice.
This first location is called Paternoggin, and it’s the head of one of the two golden dragon bodies that make up the floating islands. This will still be pretty early in the game and still technically in the tutorial; it’s before players can even receive their Dragon Quest Treasures pre-order bonuses and Deluxe Edition additions.
This means players will be fairly inexperienced, and they shouldn’t run to higher end areas until they are familiar with the battle systems, what their monsters can do, and nabbing a few levels. Once players are level 5 or so, they will be safe to attempt to grab the Royal Soil in this co-op JRPG.
What Royal Soil Looks Like
In order to find Royal Soil, players will first need to know what it looks like. This substance looks nothing like soil out in the wild; instead, players will need to look for something that looks a little more like a small brown rock.
These are farm-able objects out in the wild. Erik or Mia will need to pick up a bunch of these in the 30 hours they will be playing Dragon Quest Treasures, and they will contain a variety of substances. This includes about a 20-percent drop rate for the Royal Soil. Not to worry though; the other items that players pick up will also have plenty of uses later on in the game.
Best Location for Royal Soil
While soil deposits can be found all over the island, the highest concentration is located in the center of the head. From the train station, head south and east. There will be a bunch of these deposits located along the larger boulders all over this area.
Don’t Return to Base Yet in Dragon Quest Treasures
Once players have picked up this item in this old-fashioned RPG, they shouldn’t return to base just yet; they can also scan and pick and orc here as well as nab the beginnings of the Sanguinite quest while out there. Once the Sanguinite battle is complete and players use their treasure scanning to get to the Sanguinite, a wind tunnel will appear that they can ride all the way back to base without having to walk it.
Dragon Quest Treasures is available now for Nintendo Switch.
