The Travis Touchdown Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will retain the character’s unique look, minus his trademark sunglasses. Travis Touchdown in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be equipped with a Power Glove and beam katana that he can use to fight enemies, and unlike other Pawns in the game, it seems as though players will be able to recruit him at no cost.
Suda51 announced Travis Touchdown for Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen in a Famitsu live-stream that was mainly focused on DLC for the Switch-exclusive game Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes. As part of the collaboration with Capcom, Travis Strikes Again is adding cosmetics based on Dragon’s Dogma, though future DLC will also include new cosmetics based on The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
Having Travis Touchdown in Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen seems pretty random, but it’s a neat bonus for Switch owners nonetheless. It may even give those that have already played through Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen on other platforms a reason to check out the Switch version - besides the added benefit of portability, of course.
As for the future of the Dragon’s Dogma franchise, we’re not sure when Capcom may release a proper sequel. We know that Devil May Cry 5 was made instead of Dragon’s Dogma 2, but now that Devil May Cry 5 is out in the wild, perhaps Dragon’s Dogma 2 is more likely. And if a Dragon’s Dogma sequel isn’t in active development, perhaps strong sales for the Dragon’s Dogma Switch version could inspire Capcom to finally move forward on a new game in the series.
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen is out now for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with a Switch version launching on April 23.
