The Halloween season is the perfect time for developers to release content like this, as plenty of games provide seasonal updates to celebrate. This can include Halloween-themed multiplayer events to simple extra cosmetics and levels based on classic imagery of the season. Dreams is no exception either, as it’s giving two brand-new community-provided levels known as All Hallows’: The Land of Lost Dreams.

The trailer starts off innocently enough, where the tool is used to create a cute-looking cat in Dreams wearing a Witch hat. When given the option to save this creation, the cat gets unceremoniously dropped into a pit, where the nightmarish and twisted content of this game update is shown. This includes the trailer showing off a number of locales and characters that can be met in this location, which is stated to be where all discarded creations in the Dreams engine go to. This set for All Hallows’: The Land of Lost Dreams will come with two areas, one known as the Land of Lost Dreams, while the other is known as the Forest of Gloom. Both of these creations will be available for players to experience on October 20.
A suitably demonic voice then tells the player that they have entered the realm of the titular “Lost Dreams,” which then showcases a number of locations and creatures that are made within the engine that have a spooky or creepy vibe. This includes cats with razor-sharp jaws on their stomachs in a dense forest to dimly lit urban areas. Other creations include a few jumpscare moments, as well as a tombstone in tribute to unfinished Dreams creations.
With this spooky set of levels coming soon, it should be a good way for fans to be inspired to make their own creepy creations within the engine. Players have already recreated the iconic PT Silent Hills demo in Dreams, so this free update should be a great baseline for more similarly scary games to share with other gamers.
Dreams is available now on PS4.
