Part game and part platform, Dreams is currently a PS4 exclusive (although developers have said that they plan to bring it to PC someday). When its full form is released, the game will bring with it multiple tutorials, an introduction for new players, a full campaign, and three creation kits; users have already been able to make some notable stuff, including a shockingly accurate model of Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings.

Speaking with IGN, Media Molecule confirmed that the full version of Dreams will unlock for early access owners on February 11, at 12 pm UK time (which translates to 4am PST / 7am EST in the United States). That’s not a ton of extra time compared to general audiences who purchase the game, since its regular launch is just three days later on February 14, but it’s long enough for early access users to get a feel for the features that haven’t yet been introduced to players. For example, the existing version of Dreams doesn’t yet have Art’s Dream, which is a full game made with the Dreams creation kit–and as such, items from Art’s Dream will be available to those who decide to build their own campaigns using the kit. Art’s Dream itself is Dreams’ “story mode,” utilizing elements from platforming, shooters, and point ’n’ click games.

Beyond, the Art’s Dream creator kits come in multiple different “flavors,” with sets of noir, sci-fi and fantasy creations for use within custom user-made projects, all courtesy of Media Molecule. Then, there are two additional creator kits on top of that: Ancient Temple and Welcome Home, with even more themed items for use in projects (like this fan-made The Last of Us recreation). And for those nervous about testing their creator’s skills in Dreams, its full version also comes with a number of different tutorials and how-to videos, along with a UI update to improve the program’s item organization.

Dreams has been in the works for a long time; it only got its formal release date revealed this past January, and Dream’s early access version didn’t appear until April 2019–after its beta was expected and then delayed all the way back in 2016. With its final release, Dreams should make an interesting addition to the many game creation systems out there.

Dreams releases on February 11 for early access owners, and on February 14 for everyone on the PS4.
