A Doom 2 modder, who goes by the alias edypagaza, has uploaded an add-on for the game which still retains much of the original’s fast-paced action and demon slaying, but gives it a bit of a different spin. From the description on the page, and an accompanying YouTube video, “Doom Fighters” effectively turns the id Software title into a beat ’em up game, not too dissimilar to something like Streets of Rage....
First spotted by PCGamesN, here’s how the gif works: on the AO3 page, there’s a constantly evolving gif of Doom accompanied by a set of clickable controls. Every time a player clicks on those controls, the input is added to a queue, and the result is a crowd-controlled playthrough similar to the legendary Twitch Plays Pokemon live stream experience. The server runs the input back in order and shows the updated images, allowing AO3 to play Doom – albeit on a gif that’s somewhat unstable from both server pressure and the constant loading....
That’s just what mod creator Rip and Tear is doing with the Doom Loot Box Mod, a rework of the classic ‘90s title only with a randomized twist. In fact, the loot box mod for Doom makes the game significantly harder if players aren’t regularly opening loot boxes. As spotted by PCGamesN, user 40oz has managed to create an add-on for Doom that comes with 12 new maps and also pays homage to Limp Bizkit by replacing some of the game’s textures with images of the band’s frontman Fred Durst. Nintendo and Cygames had revealed earlier this year that Dragalia Lost would be shutting down in 2022, with its final content update set for July. Now, a new update from Nintendo has officially confirmed the game will shut down on November 29th, 2022. The update came alongside the shuttering of purchases for the game’s premium currency ending at the same time as the post was made. Dragalia Lost’s Upgrade Essentials and Packs will continue to be purchasable in-game until the end of October, ending on October 31st....
