The aptly named The Legend of Doom is a full conversion mod for Doom 2, which was uploaded to Mod DB a few days ago, and created by DeTwelve. Essentially, what the add-on does is put Doomguy into the world of Hyrule, giving him a sword and shield and all the usual accouterments from the original NES classic, The Legend of Zelda. Doom Eternal is a notoriously challenging game. To beat back the hordes of the damned on the harder difficulty settings, you will need to have fast reaction times, solid aim, and a good understanding of the game’s weapon switching mechanics; whereby a user switches very quickly between powerful weapons to maximize their damage output. Most would also say that you need a controller or a keyboard and mouse as well, but they have clearly been proven wrong....

It’s likely that many Doom players are already familiar with this Terminator 2 Easter egg. And it’s likely that many Doom Eternal players will either be rediscovering it or finding it for the first time. It’s not a difficult reference to discover. All that it requires is for the player to die in molten lava. Even mentioning molten lava likely conjures the Terminator 2 scene in question. It’s at the end of the film when Arnold Schwarzenegger slowly lowers himself into the molten slag and as his hand goes below the surface it gives a thumbs up....
